The Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) debuted at the Melbourne Showgrounds on the 4thto the 6th May 2012. It was the largest dedicated coffee tradeshow ever to be staged in Australia and Mocopan was there!
“We made a big impression with our brand new stand; it was built specifically for this expo to showcase our new marketing campaign enriching your coffee experience,” State Sales Manager – VIC/TAS Glenn Cunningham explained. “The stand allowed us to demonstrate Mocopan’s passion for coffee and to take barista and latte art performance to a whole new level. We had three new state-of-the-art Nuova Simonelli coffee machines on display, each with a camera overhead. The cameras captured the action at the machines and allowed us to project what was happening onto three large plasma screens.”
“It meant that more people than ever before could see us pouring some amazing coffee, drawing them into our stand to watch what we were doing, prompting them to try our coffee ask more about Mocopan. At one stage the crowd around the stand was a least eight people deep, the excitement was incredible,” Glenn added.
In addition to serving great coffee on the stand, we cupped some of our new products – a specialty-style blend and a Single Origin coffee in the cupping room. This gave our Master Roaster Peter Stathos the opportunity to show off some new coffees that he and his team have been working on; coffees that have already been awarded bronze medals at the Sydney Royal Show for Espresso and Single Origin Espresso. On the stand and in the cupping room we even had an old Mocopan employee, the one and only Giancarlo Guisti plus one of the former owners both of whom were very proud to see the Mocopan brand taking centre stage.
“It was one of the busiest and most successful trade shows we’ve ever attended,” Glenn said. “It presented a great opportunity to showcase Mocopan, how we are enriching people’s coffee experience and leaving them wanting more.”
